MRCA Picnic in the Park

The MRCA Picnic was held at the Y-camp on Sixth Line Rd on Sept 8.  Despite torrential rain, members of the community gathered for hamburgers and hotdogs and warm community spirit.

The West Carleton Dog Agility Club demonstration had to be cancelled because of the weather, but the Y-camp staff generously led a nature walk in the pouring rain.  The Park was recently renamed to honour Sheila McKee, whose husband Gerry and  daughter Colleen took part in the picnic.

The new Community Police Officer, Arun Daniels, attended with volunteers from the West Carleton Community Police Centre, and the Public Health Nurse, Kim Ou, also attended and handed out information and water testing bottles.
